I have attracted by Ysolda’s Whimical Little Knits. This is the love at first sight thing….especially the Ishbel shawl.
Believe it or not, the pattern only calls for 300 meters. My added on stash from Craftlover (she was doing a massive sale because she’s moving out of the country…check out her books, and yarn stash…lovely lovely lovely!), the Colinette Jitterbug, only has 291 meters. Love the red/purple colourway so I decided to take a risk. Every row/repeat I was doing, I was weighting the ball with my hands to see how much I have left. Surprisingly, after finished the last row of the pattern, I still have yarn left! I think I can make a couple granny squares with the left over!
It’s a very comfortable size of shawl to cover my neck like a scarf, or a shawl if I’m wearing a camisole to add warmth to my shoulder. I am loving it! Even my boyfriend said it’s a lovely one. He’s a picky person and he rarely comments on my knits, except this one.
The next little thing I did was The Queen Anne’s Scarf, a free pattern from 1Craftyboy’s webblog. Craftlover is right, it takes only 2 hours to do! If you want instant gratification, this is a must crochet item!
Easy to memorize, and fun to crochet. The good thing is that, you can use any yarn in your stash, and keep the flower growing until you ran out of yarn! I was using the Noro Kureyon and it only has 110 meters. One ball gives me a decent length to show off! If you got 200 meters, then you can make it a wrap around to keep your neck warm.
When I’m not keeping my neck warm, I place it by the den with my plants…it adds tremendous colourway to the corner!

Wow, I love them, and the pictures are very nice! How did you take the pictures with the scarf? I love the lighting.
Hi Sherry!
Thanks for your lovely comment! I put the shawl on the sofa which is nearby the window. I guess natural lighting is the best as the photographer say! I am still a “baby” in terms of taking photos. There’re so much to learn and try like knitting!
Thanks again, and happy knitting!

Beautiful projects as always!

And I am so glad that the IShbel is now on my hands, I think I am the luckiest woman in the world. ahahahha
I think the light source in your new place is so good for picture taking.
I love that!
In my mom’s place, the light source is quite limited, and it’s not easy for me to take some good pics though.
well, if the weather is warmer, I can take pics outside.
can’t wait to sit outside with ERika.
I like your photos a lot ! it looks awesome.
And the scarf are so feminine and delicate.

That red-purple is just luscious and, of course, your knitting is flawless. Very well done.
