Spring is around the corner!
April 23, 2008 by angelknits
Isn’t it nice around Toronto? The grass is green, it’s getting warm, the day light is getting longer. Spring is finally here! I took a LONG weekend and hopped on the plane to visit my boyfriend this past weekend to Halifax, Nova Scotia. What a beautiful city! It’s probably my 5th time there but it’s just nice to be in a city with friendly people. Halifax just reminded me of Toronto back in 20 years ago. People are polite, friendly, and when you want to cross the road, they actually stopped the car and let you go; rather than trying to run you over. Anyhow, I got some cute pictures to show.
First is the two cable boxes by the city. It’s full of creativitiy and art, isn’t it pretty?

A must visit in a new city is to visit a yarn store. Here’s the Loop Cafe:

The yarn store lady was so helpful! Since people say the spinning is so much fun, I have got myself a hand made spindle by the local and some wools. I will show some pictures in my next post.
Last but ot least, I got to show my progress of a new project that I started on the plane. It’s Annie Modesitt’s Silk Corset. I got this pattern a while back but never got to it. Now that the Spring is around the corner, it’s a good time to start! The yarn is a splurge…..it’s Laines du Nord Mulberry Silk. Silk…..I love silk…..=P
It’s in one of my favourite colour - purple pink, and the yarn got a beautiful sheen to it. And the pattern is knitted from top down. I just hope it’s not too small!
~Thank you all for the lovely comments on my new header! They’re all sweet and it really keeps me going! I hope you’re like me, enjoy life and be a happy knitter!~ =D

hey, I fall in love with the SPRING and the Silk too..
Your silk yarn is soft with shimmery too.
nice choice!!
Hope you will enjoy this new project, and can’t wait to see it done.
I am still ‘rushing’ on the camisole, hope I can finish it off before I head to HOng KONG…..
hey angel! you were in halifax!?!?! that’s where i did my degree and i spent many hours at the loop. it made a great place to de-stress. i look forward to seeing your spinning!
i hope you had a great time in halifax!
the people ARE nice, aren’t they?
happy knitting!

What are you wearing, standing in front of Loop? It’s gorgeous, with the black collar and cuffs. Is it something you made?
Thanks for your compliments Lee Ann! I can’t take credit for this jacket, it’s from Zara, my favourite store. Where are you in the world? Do you have Zara nearby? However, I got mine a couple months ago, I don’t know if they still have it. Thanks again!
