This Surplice Bodice Camisole is a pleasure to knit. It didn’t take long to finish….I was just slow and I didn’t have time to upload it because I was away on vacation. The yarn is very nice as well….the bamboo yarn from the SWTC. The yardage was great in one ball (like 250yds) so I ended up using only 2 balls for a camisole! I also got it on sale from the Knitting Basket so it’s totally worth it.

Gosh, when I look at these pictures, I realized I REALLY gained weight! I thought the scale is off…..I got to start watch my diet and exercise hard! Anyways, here’s the back of the view:

On my needles is a quick knitting project. It’s made with chunky yarn and the pattern’s from the Twinkle’s Knit. It’s really different from my knitted collection and I am enjoying so far because I can see myself finish the project in a couple of days! Will keep you guys posted.
FO: Surplice Bodice Camisole
Pattern: Knitting Lingerie Style
Yarn: Bamboo in purple, South West Trading Company – 2 balls

Finally You posted this up.

I am so happy for you. the good thing is : only 2 balls of the bamboo yarn. So, any more yarn left for the last ball you used?
I still have my bamboo yarn (I was using this yarn to knit the shrug from Phildar, but then I gave up. ) SO, I wanted to know how much you left after knitting this camisole.
Thanks…
It’s really nice on you.
This pattern works from the middle up, and then pick up needles at the middle and work downward. So I basically work on it until I ran out of yarn…I think I have less than 10 inches left!
Depends how long you want it but I think mine is similar to pattern’s length so it works out fine. You can do the same thing with your bamboo yarn huh!
Beth, the cami looks just adorable so far…great job!
And I will exchange bodies with you ANY day…he,he.
Purple is my favourite too.It looks very nice and so fit on you.
Your camisole is beautiful, I am attempting to knitting this camisole but I am kinda new to kitting and I am having trouble with the finishing edge, I can’t figure out how do you do the pick up and knit 3 sts for 4 rows and 1 st for every st. Is there a way you could help me and explain this a little better please, I just dont get it . Thank you Liz Hightower
Hi Liz,
Sorry for the late reply. I was out of the country so I didn’t see your question until today. I hope you didn’t think I ignored you!
As for the finishing, it’s done after the whole piece is finished. They’re asking us to pick up stitches along the edge. For every 4 rows, you pick up 3 stitches. So you can pick up one stitch for teh first 3 rows and when it comes to the 4th row, you skip picking up stitches there and continue on the next set. They do this because you’re trying to pick up stitches to knit an edge, to make 3 stitches out of 4 rows will flatter the edge, instead of making “ruffle” therefore it’s a nice finish. This “3 sts for 4 rows” apply to the v neck; as for the back edge, becasue it’s not horizonal, therefore every stitches that you bind off, you pick up one stitch in every hole, meaning ” 1 st for every st”.
I hope this make sense to you. If you need visual help, you can actually google or youtube “pick up stitches”. You will probably find some tutorial on this finishing technique.
Good luck, and thanks for visit my blog!
